Calibre HTML doesnt open in Dreamweaver
Well, that's not quite true. When I attempt to edit HTML that has come through Calibre the file does open but is not editable. The code is there and that is editable, but a design representation does not appear. How do I get a WYSIWYG representation of the text and images to appear in Dreamweaver?

Have you chosen Dreamweaver's 'split' option (top left of screen)? I would be more specific but I'm replying on an iPad so can't check the Dreamweaver's screen.
If that doesn't work, and no-one else has come up with an answer, I'll check when I can access Dreamweaver's tomorrow. ren |

Thank you ren41. Split does not show editable text, but let me not take any more of valuable Calibre forum time here as the Grand Wizard points out--though this is a Calibre manifestation it is not strictly a Calibre question. It is easy to banish--not kind, but easy (and not, seemingly, in Kovid's spirit).

Thank you dwanthny. I have submitted a bug report. Still, I would appreciate it if any forum members have found a workaround to let me know.

Hi Obartz
Are the split and design options greyed out? If so, save the code you've dropped into Dreamweaver as an HTML file, and then the other icons should become accessible. You could also try loading the file into a text editor, copying the text and then pasting into Dreamweaver. Then save as an HTML file and you should be able to access the Design tab. Good luck ren |

Thanks all,
Split and design options are available. I will try your suggestions. In the meantime I've developed a workaround pattern. Instead of loading a zip file (an epub renamed to zip) into Calibre and then converting within Calibre to another epub, I am, instead, loading in the HTML itself to be converted to an epub. Thanks again! |
