Audiobooks and Podcast Options for the NC?

I'm thinking of buying the wife an NC for her birthday in November. ( I understand that the NC 2 and the Amazon Tab might be out by then. I'll look at them too).
I've been preaching the ebook gospel to her and I think she is ready to come over to the dark side. She also likes magazines , which the NC does well, I'm told.

She also really loves audiobooks and podcasts, though. How good is the NC for those? I know it has audio functionality, but I haven't heard how it does audiobooks and podcasts. Are there B&N apps for that?

(I'm looking for native functionality. I'm not interested in rooting anything. I like warranties and the wife is very non-techie).

I would never use my NC (or any tablet or reader) for audiobooks and podcasts. That is what my phone and mp3 player are for. You really want something that has great bookmarking capabilities. I use Astro Player for my android phone and I love it.

When my NC was rooted, I had DogCatcher on it, a great Android app for podcasts and videocasts. Unfortunately, I de-rooted last week and found that I had too high hopes for the NC marketplace. Too few apps. Really, I only wanted two outside the regular NC functionality: Ipaper and DogCatcher.
