360 Is Pocketbook 360 (plus or not) available in Europe at all?

I managed to break my beloved 360's screen.

Pocketbook may have its faults, but I really really loved this little reader, and I still can't see another device on the market that would afford me the same freedom (suggestions welcome of course).
So I'm looking to buy 360 or preferably 360 plus again. But none of these seems to be available in europe any more (or yet, as the case may be).
Is it that I just don't know where to look, or should I give up and opt for another brand instead?

I agree with you in two points:
1. PB360 is an excellent device. In my opinion it is still unsurpassed in terms of software features, configurability, ergonomy, and screen lid.
2. PocketBook company - the Ukrainian headquarters and German distributor DO have some faults ;-)

Last time I looked into this the situation was:
- PocketBook Europe will not sell PB360Plus before they manage to sell PB360 they have imported. Remember, back then they sold for 250Eur. This was after we complained here that USA distributors sell PB360+ cheaper in USA than the old model is sold here in EU.
- To sell remaining PB360 they pulled those from official sellers and were selling them on german ebay for 99Eur.

I have looked and I can't find PB360 on german ebay anymore.

You can consider one of numerous companies that will buy PB360 for you in USA and mail it to Europe. Sigh ...

I personally would try to contact PB representatives Forkosigan and Mtraveleth here to ask.

In the meanwhile, Sony T1 touch looks very, *very* interesting. Especially the fact it runs Android. I expect it will be rooted soon.

I did have a hard time finding anotehr one in Europe (after abandoning one on a train!), but managed to find it on amazon UK (from German supplier, but the interface for your order is in English) - and it is still there, apparently, so you may want to have a look.

I also know that the greenreader has some left over which are not advertised on their site, so you would have to email them to get them. Given how hard it is to find the "old" PB360, common sense would suggest that the 360 Plus should be available soon, but then I wouln'd be so sure...

Kacir, the Sony you are referring to would have a Pearl screen, right? Still, I am really loving the latest firware release, which I think is the same on the PB360 plus, not wise for PB to wait too long to release the Plus on the European market, imho.

Exactly. Pearl, Infraded touch, Android, SD card (to facilitate rooting) ... *AND* ... [DRUMROLL] ... the manufacturer and European distributor aren't actively trying to prevent me from purchasing the new device, unlike some manufacturers that I shall not name here.

I think that they already waited *much* longer than was wise.
I am exasperated, because such a great hardware design and such fantastic software deserve better treatment IMHO.

Thank you all for your responses. I did manage to find a few 360s sold by (ironically) the german amazon for €99, which is cheaper than the uk amazon price. I won't be able to order yet as I'll be leaving soon for a fortnight and there's no way I will have received my order before then. I hope there will be some left when I get back. No, scratch that, I hope there will be the new 360+ available when I get back.

I really don't understand why Pocketbook are doing everything they can to alienate their loyal customers. Instead of taking my (and many people's) insistence to still buy a reader with an inferior screen to most competitors as the compliment it is, they make it as hard as possible for us to do so. It irks me that I will be giving my money to support such an attitude, and it irks me that I will most probably give my money for an older device when I really want the newer model. It's a testament to how much I liked the 360 that I'm still willing to do so, but there are limits.

I'm not enamoured with sony's customer support either (I've had two older sonys and I'm now using one as a replacement, but I'm not happy about it), but there's no comparison.

What I'm considering as an alternative is the new non touch kindle, just because of its price, the screen, and most importantly the fact that it now seems to have a good portuguese dictionary, which I never could find for the pocketbook. Still, I know I will be frustrated with it if I get it, as I will miss several of my favourite pocketbook features, and be annoyed by all the extra "community" features I definitely do not want. Sigh.

Is there an official line on the scarcity of 360s I wonder, or just rumours?

Apparently PB wants to sell every last old 360 available in some backwater online shop in some obscure european region before they even consider distributing the 360+ models.
Not too clever, but they are old enough to bear the consequences of their actions...

I made a preorder for a Pocketbook 360+ yesterday. In the german Subforum we were told, that they await the 360+ to be availible in about 2 weeks in germany.

Chi Cygni, thanks for the link, but it's indeed too pricey, when you consider that the 360+ is supposed to be €124 (I think I read that somewhere or other).

Those are the "good old" PB360. Not "plus".

I ran out of PB360+ couple of days ago, and, by the Murphy's law, immediately got couple of orders for them...))) Customers should wait a little - presumably, they will be back in stock in about 304 weeks.
