Man builds Hobbit house for 3k

I've just read a wonderful story about a man who has built a hobbit style home for him and his family. He had no previous experience and was allowed to build the house by the ownder of a forest who wanted someone to live there to look after it. The house itself is stunning and they even have a greenhouse for growing veg next door, solar panel and wood burning stove.

Peter Jackson took the two hobbit Bag End set interiors - the big one and small one - used in creating LOTR, and had them built into mounds in the garden, for big and small visitors. I know, because he built a mansion near my hometown in NZ - Masterton in the Wairarapa Valley, 100km north of Wellington, where the movie was made.
