battery bar error?
I tried a USB charger yesterday for the first time but after a few hours the battery bar became empty -- before charging it there were still 4 out 5 there.
Did anyone encounter the same problem using a USB charger? Or the charger damaged the battery? |

First tell us what model of PocketBook you have.
If you have e-ink based one, please bear in mind that you have three options in you reader settings: When connected, start charging When connected, start communicating with PC When connected prompt user When you set it to option 2, the device is trying to communicate, until the battery runs down When you set it to option 3, you have to select whether you want to charge (so you can continue reading), or you want to upload file (now you can't use device, because it is communicating and on screen there is "please do not disconnect" prompt". If your battery becomes discharged too much, it won't start charging when connected to charger. You have to connect to the charger, wait a minute and then press reset. |

And also you have to use a charger that delivers at least 5V / 1000 mA

More is allowed, you can charge with the iPad chargers. That won't damage the battery.

would less than 1A damage the accu? I thought that 500mA would just be as good as 1000mA, just a little slower...

Less wouldn't damage the accu, but some experiences of users in the German subforum showed that 1000mA are simply necessary to charge the device fully. It didn't work with chargers that only provided 500mA although they charged their devices for a very long time. - I think Troll05 had these posts in mind, too.
On the same line, you can't charge an iPad with a weaker charger, it needs the higher Ampere. |

Thank you, everyone.
My charger is not a dedicated USB charger. I bought it to charge Ni-MH batteries but it happens to have a USB charger built in. The USB port provides 5VDC 500mA. I thought computer USB power output is also 500mA. Isn't it? I have been using my computer to charge the 602 for 7 months with no problems. |
