Will USB Microphone work on a PE?
I'm wondering if I can use my Pocket Edge to record audio from a USB mic.

I am assuming that there are three issues that would have to be met in order for that to be possible:
  1. Proper Drivers
  2. USB connection (guessing that not all USB connections are alike)
  3. audio recording software

I've never tried a USB mic, but the built in mic isn't too bad in my casual use.

The only way you will find the answers is by trying.

First, you will need to find the android drivers for the particular USB mic you want to use.
Second, there are 3 USB standards - 1.1, 2 and 3 and the standards are supposed to be backwards compatible. USB 1.1 and 2 use the same physical connector (4 sliding contacts) while v3 has the same basic structure but with added contacts.
Third, there is recording software installed for use with the inbuilt mic and a mic plugged in to the 3.5 mm combination mic/headphone socket.

Depending on exactly what you want to do I would think the existing 3.5 mm mic/headphone socket would be the way forward - you won't need to find or write drivers.
