No idea. You might be able to get it through your USB cable as long as you can log in to Amazon US.

China is known to censor what can travel over the air waves. I do remember people being very excited that they could use the Kindle Browser in China and being able to access web sites you could not get on most computers.

What this means is that anyone with a Kindle in China can subscribe to Western papers and read what is happening in the world without it being filtered by the Chinese Government.

That is huge.

Don't worry about it. At least you can use VPN, which I always do when websites overseas are blocked.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Here is an update for anyone who may be interested. I have just got back, & there was no problem getting Amazon downloads in Shanghai - Yangtze 3 Gorges cruise - Chongquin - Xian - Beijing. I tried the web browser just for curiosity. The web browser by-passed the censorship when it was using a wifi signal, but didn't bypass censorship when it went over to a signal called Edge.

To be fair I was in Beijing this week and also got Facebook via my Blackberry so the 'Great Fire Wall' does not cover everything
