Kindle for pc not working properly

Hi all first post here,
I'm having some problems with kindle for pc, the first time I installed it and opened it it worked fine but now when I open it , it appears half way down the screen and doesn't respond, when i click anywhere on it, it just makes the program malfunction ding noise if you know what I mean. I've tried uninstalling it and re-installing it and using system restore and reg clean, every time I re-install it it appears the same way and won't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated..thanks.

If no one has any better suggestions, you might call Kindle Customer Service and see if they can clean things up for a reinstall.

Same exception here - only on one laptop, not on other PC - both running same version of Windows 7.

You could try using 1.4.1 That was the last stable version for me before I upgraded to 1.7.0. I don't suggest using the latest 1.7.1 as it sometimes crashes if you have alot of books in your archive.
