New to the Forum
I was a Sony Reader early adopter (maybe five years ago, maybe more); got one of their first models, cost around $400. Over several years had too many problems to list. Maybe 18 months ago bought the PRS-300: slow and unreliable. Stopped buying books from the Reader store several years ago, Sony software was impossible. Used Kobo, EBooks.com, etc., anything that would allow me to get formatted to ePub; kept the library on Adobe Digital. Last month just gave up on Sony and bought the Nook (new black and white model). So far, so good.
Was able to side-load much of my library; but I've got about 100 .lrx files that I purchased from Sony. They hold on Calibre ok, but I can't get them to the Nook. I expect this topic is covered somewhere in the Forum archives, but, being new, would appreciate any advice or pointers to work on this situation. Thanks all, Wanders |

LRX files cannot be converted to any other format, I'm afraid.

For me, the Sony Reader software has always been hinky. But, I uninstalled, then re-installed the Reader PC software. The Help Section gave some advice which was about 50% correct. The Reader library showed the lion's share of my previously purchased books as "downloadable." Doing so brought them down in an ePub format. I copied them from the Sony file to the Calibre library, but Calibre would not load them to my Nook (format problems); so I copied them from the Sony file to Abode Digital, which, recognizes the device, and from there copied them into the Nook. Thanks for the tip. |
