Cool Reader Question

I have Cool Reader on my Nook Color booting CM7 from sd card. It works very well and I especially like that it lets me access books that I put on my Nook Color to be read when I boot into the Nook's stock rom so I don't have to have two copies of each book that I want to read both on the stock Nook Color rom and the CM7 rom. I was hoping that Cool Reader would work just as well on my Pocket Edge, but I am having problems. When I open Cool Reader on my Pocket Edge, it does not give me the option to search for books on my sd card. It only searches on the internal drive. Is there a setting that I am missing? I like being able to pt my books on my sd card and keep the internal memory for other things.

I can't help solve your problem because I can't even get Coolreader to download onto my PE - where did you get CR from? Did you use an earlier version than the current one? Thanks.

It works on my pe. When it opens it opens to kind of an explorer screen. If you don't get that you might try reinstalling. Mine is named cool reader.apk

You might open a file explorer and be sure you can see your sd card, the pe might not be recognizing it.

I get CoolReader direct from sourceforge,

just pick whichever version you like - I'm on cr3.0.46-5.apk.

I've never tried downloading to my EE directly. I always download to my computer then use ES-FileExplorer to install from there.

If you go to the top of the list in SD card you should find a heading that has an arrow pointing left on the left side. Tap that arrow and you should find you have access to all the directories available. From there you should be able to get to your external SD card. That is the way I do it, I also frequently change SD cards depending on what job I'm on at the time and what information I need.

That is how I assumed it should work, but when I tap that arrow it just goes to a screen showing me "Recent Books" and "SD card" with the SD card actually being the internal memory. I think I will download the version that you have on your EE and see if that fixes my problem. I have an older version installed.

Glad you got it up and running. You will find different version issues on multiple apps on different android tablets. What works on one tablet may not on another.

Thanks. I'm very happy to finally have it working the way that I want it to now. I really like having my books on my sd card rather than internal memory.
