Reader for business use

Just wondering if anyone else uses their reader for business purposes

I do, because I can convert multipage briefings to text and then forget about having to lug reams of paper about (although for events i'll keep a hard copy of alleged running order, but would bookmark in briefing as well)

It's great for speeches as well - Minister speaks, I read and no shuffling paper about (Don't know why I bother though - worked with 5 government ministers and not one sticks to the script - i only get interested/worried once they go off-message which is most of the time)

And another thought - wouldn't text to speech be handy on these devices (currently using prs300 and 505 - 300 travels, 505 at home) - i could plug it into car stereo and get briefed on way to events!

any thoughts

I've got 600 and I use it constantly for meetings, or simply to jot down notes. A very handy tool, and I can even read my book whilst I wait for the meeting to start

It's also great for loading documents to read on a plane so you don't have to get out your laptop.

A neat idea I had was - I track my (sizable) print book collection on Librarything.com - I did an export from that database to a csv file, opened that up - did some column deletes and some tweaks to fit everything and in the end of formatting everything, printed to pdf in Excel.

Then I went to Borders for their closeout sales with a handy full list of my books owned so I didn't get duplicates - I called it my anti-shopping list. I also had my amazon wishlist (tweaked a lot from the source html) and converted to an epub - I can use the touchscreen to make notes or highlight books to remove from the list when I find them at a discount someplace and want to remove them easily. Dunno what anyone else thought of the idea, but it saved me a ton of times from buying duplicate books. So I can definitely see uses for it other than "just ebooks". Using calibre I've also used the feature to grab rss feeds and turn them into epubs to read on the sony reader - I read more rss feeds doing that than I have in ages!

There are a number of readers which do have TTS. If you'd find this useful, perhaps you could get one of them; your current readers are getting a little "long in the tooth" .

The calibre newsfeeds are awesome! I also use instapaper.com which can compile website articles that you select into an EPUB file.

Another tip is to create a collection called "Travel" and then store your itinerary docs and other info for your trip in it.
