Hi - New and searching for the start
Hi I am Hans from the city of Mainz - and I am glad I found this forum.
I work in a publishing house where the editors user readers. But I would like to read the ebooks on my laptop with calibre run under Ubuntu. But I just can't find out, how to get an e-book on my computer without having any reader device.

Do you have Calibre installed on your laptop or are you planning to install it?
In what sort of formats are the e-books you want to read (epub, mobi, pdf)?
Are they DRM-protected?
Provide as much information as you can to get further help.

Thanks for the welcome - and the answers. Meanwhile I learnt, that this is a DRM and Linux problem. So if I know the reason that's alright with me. I have calibre installed and it works fine with the news. I think until I can read e-books on my Ubuntu system I will prefer printed books.
