Remove first image without converting
Hi
As I wade through my ebook collection I am coming across some that have the cover embedded within the book resulting in 2 images when I read it. I know there's "Remove first image" when you convert however I just want a button within the "Edit Metadata" screen to do this on an individual book basis. (I don't want to just run this on every book as some of the data is lousy and quite often I need the embedded image to tell me what the book is!!) |

If the books are ePub you can open them one at a time in Sigil (next forum down)and removed the image you don't want.

I have Sigil. I was just wondering how to launch it from within Calibre's edit metadata screen when I spot the problem. Or better still just launch Calibre's built in remove first image routine.

![]() What is the 'First Image'? It is not always the the first Image file within a EPUB package. It is the first Image used as you progress linearly through a book. Calibre discovers the name of the Image file (and removing the call) by doing all the steps of 'Converting a book'. |

Didn't realise "Open With" would work with book metadata screen open. Will give it a whirl. Suppose I then have to convert that ePub to mosi for my kindle :-(
