Been making books for Project Gutenberg since they were scratched into silicon with a pin and magnifying glass in 5-bit Baudot code.
Even done a dozen or so hundred pages on Project Gutenberg Distributed Proofreaders. Likewise, recorded hours of digital audio-books for the Librivox project. And all without owning an eReader. Always used old desktops, Palm Pilots, Pocket PCs and old dumpster laptops. But now I have a kobo wifi ereader. W00T! $60 at the RIP sale at my local Borders. I find the eink to be annoyingly slow to update. This makes reading slow and using a reference book almost impossible. The lack of search and touch screen is frustrating too. Maybe I'll try a color Nook. Any opinions? |

Good to have your company, Nickledarg. And what an admirable project you are associated with. A pleasure to meet you. Happy Koboing (though there are many options when it comes to backlit devices if you;re not comfortable with e-ink). Very best wishes. Neil

try the nook color. it will be quick as heck as it's a tablet and lcd. if you find reading better on e-ink, try the nook simple touch reader, which is touch and has improved page turn speed in comparison with your kobo.
