The Complete Mudhen is an omnibus edition of all the stories about life in an American northeastern boy's boarding school. They take place in a period between the 1930's and the early 1940's.

About the author.
Meritt Parmalee Allen (1892-1954) became an author after being stricken with Polio at age 17. He wrote mostly historical books, but also wrote lighter stories. The Mudhen series of stories were popular from the mid 1930's until his death in 1954.
