Where is finished my free space?
Yesterday I installed FBreader with the installer currently on wiki in order to read a simple chm:
https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/ILia...r#Installation I didn't worked, but some strange flickering happened (not any serious tho') so I uninstalled it. Today I was copying a pdf on, and there still are only some megabytes, where all the files summed up occupy about 70mb. I noted that there is a _local directory beside book, notes, etc... with a unix-like directory structure inside. It seems empty anyway, but I didn't touch it. I deleted instead the Program folder (it was empty): so where are my other >50 mb? Is there any correlation with FBReader? Regards, Gil |

What's protected space left for? Can I use some for other ebooks?
/mnt/protected seems to be practically empty... Code:
root@ereader:/mnt/protected# df -h Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/tffsa1 71.3M 59.2M 12.1M 83% / /dev/tffsa5 27.4M 2.0k 27.4M 0% /mnt/protected /dev/tffsa6 128.1M 100.8M 27.3M 79% /mnt/free /dev/tffsa7 583.0k 51.0k 532.0k 9% /mnt/settings root@ereader:/mnt/protected# ls -al * -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Sep 28 13:35 logfile images: drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 1024 Feb 28 1943 . drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 1024 Sep 28 13:35 .. |

Half of the ilad memory is for the Operating system and related files. The other half is for books and whatever files you like to install.
By the way to install FBreader, it is best to do that on an external memory module. |

Yes, but the left that remains should be 128 mb not 7-80!
It seems like fs corruption... How can I solve? |

I keep almost all my content on a CF card, and my /mnt/free has only 19 MB used (out of 128.1M). This seems to be mostly books and documents provided by iRex, although I do have a couple of dictionaries that account for 8 MB.
So I think it is /mnt/free that represents "your" 128 MB, and the 100 MB used should be mostly your stuff. If you have a lot of books or documents, the usual approach is to install a CF or MMC card and use it for your content. Note that the iLiad does have the du command, which you can use to track down where the 100 MB in /mnt/free is residing. One of my favorite Linux commands is: Code:
du -s * | sort -n |

I saved my data, formatted the disk in Win as FAT 32, and restored them. That fixed it. Thanks again to DigiDirk and iRex staff.
