First E-Reader.

Just bought a Kobo touch. It was touch and go, I had the kindle, but, the book selection won me over. (I'm in Canada).

Though, I do miss the side buttons, they were nice.

My only concern I've had with my Kobo (first day) is that I already had to a do a factory reset as it wasn't synching some books I had bought. Hopefully, this is seldom. But, other than that, seems like a fine ereader.

Welcome MikeyT. It does seem right now that the Touch does have some issues; however on the bright side, Kobo have staff and developers who do drop by these forums; we do have a pretty active community here.

One issue you might want to beware of with the Touch is that its firmware can corrupt very easily if you use multiple programs (Calibre, Adobe Digital Editions, the Kobo desktop tool) during the same session, or opening the same program multiple times during that session. Best to always eject (preferably by the system tray icon) and then reconnect your Kobo each time you want to switch to a new program or have to reopen the same program if you don't want to have to factory reset often. (Got caught by that again last night. *sigh*)

Mikey, once you get the hang of it, if there's ever a fire raging, you'll get the Kobo out then, your wife out...
It's just fantastic, fits anywhere and with the 16G card you can fill it up with over 1000 comics books, or thousands and thousands of books on anything.
Pdfs read fantastic with the rollover option.
Give it five years and Kobo will be color, sound and movies too.

Comics eh? I saw that it supported the cbr file, but wasn't sure how they would look on the Kobo.. Any suggestions on where I can buy comics? I thought Powers by Bendis would be a nice comic to do display on the grey screen.

Get used to squinting on the Kobo to read most comics (the exception, maybe, being mangas since they generally have relatively little text per panel and larger fonts, at least the English-translated ones do). The 16-level greyscale does a good job, though, of making color pictures look nice.
