Charging my 350
Q1 Do I have to charge my Sony 350 through the computer or can I do it with a generic wall charger?
Q2 Because it doesn't have an SD card and therefore I have to connect the device every time I download a book, the battery is charging while this is happening (I think). Will this affect the length of time it stays charged, given that I won't be letting it run down and then charge up which is what I believe is the accepted way to charge this type of battery. Hope this makes sense and someone can enlighten me. |

Most USB wall chargers work fine... many people use their phone charger (must have MICRO-USB connector to attach to 350) and I have generic USB chargers that work fine with 350 cable.
Li-poly batteries do NOT need silly charging cycles, they were required by Ni-Cad cells which are totally different. If you use say 20% of your charge then recharge then use 50% and recharge, this only counts as a 70% charge not a charge cycle for each connection... partial charge doesn't matter, they work this way... more info in other threads if you do a search... |

Sony is great hardware, Amward. But I wouldn't rely on the over-optimistic battery level meters. I'd advise to use a good mains charge every time and never to let the level drop under two bars on the meter. Luck and best wishes. Neil

Also, it's healthier for modern batteries to not go too far down before recharging.
So Neillmar's advice is from that perspective as well! |
