The Movie Clue Game (May Contain Spoilers)

This game is inspired by the "Movie Dialog Game," but instead of using movie quotes, it will use clues from the movie.

The Goal: To determine the name of a movie from a series of clues. Any theatrical movie that has been released on video or has been shown on television is eligible (this is to ensure that everyone has reasonable access to the movie, and avoids brand new theatrical movies).

This game is a competition between each individual trying to determine the name of the movie and also with individual who is providing the clues (known as the Cluemaker).

If someone determines the name of the movie, they win the round and become the new Cluemaker. If no one comes up with the name of the movie by the end of the round, the Cluemaker wins and gets to choose a new movie.

The Rules:

- The Cluemaker will begin a round by releasing a post containing five clues for the movie.

- The clues can take any form as long as they can be connected to the movie.

- If, after two days, no one has determined the name of the movie after the first list of clues, the Cluemaker will release as second set of five clues.

- The process will continue until five sets of clues have been sent out (for a total of 25 clues).

- If no one determines the name of the movie, the Cluemaker wins and releases the name of the movie. He/She then continues the game with a new set of clues.

I hope you enjoy this game. Please feel free to suggest improvements to the rules.

I'll start the game with the following:

Clue 1: Features a Sinatra, but no relation to Frank or anyone related to him.

Clue 2: Almost the entire movie is a flashback.

Clue 3: Takes place at a fictional college.

Clue 4: Concrete Blonde provided a song for this movie, but before they were Concrete Blonde.

Clue 5: One cast member also appeared in the movie "Ghostbusters."

It's time for the second set of clues:

Clue 6: A movie from the 1980s.

Clue 7: One cast member appeared in the movie "The Human Tornado."

Clue 8: One cast member appeared in the Steve Miller Band video for the song "Abracadabra."

Clue 9: One cast member was a regular on the soap operas "Another World," "Days Of Our Lives," and "Guiding Light."

Clue 10: Most of the film is in color, but one segment is in black and white.

The 1980's? I think that was the time of The Little Mermaid, Back to the Future, Princess Bride, Raiders of the Lost Ark, maybe one of the Star Wars movies.... umm, ET maybe and possibly Close Encounters?

Thanks for responding. I was hoping for some interest in this game, like there has been in the movie dialog game. One question: to speed up the game should I bump up the clues to five new ones per day instead of per two days? Unless anyone objects, I'll go with it.

Also, to clear some of the movies mentioned, its not:

Time for the next clues. Sorry for the delay, I had computer problems that I had to deal with.

Clue 11: The soundtrack also features music from the following groups: R.E.M., The Buzzcocks, and The Fleshtones.

Clue 12: The main character tries, unsuccessfully, to commit suicide two times.

Clue 13: This movie has a plot item in common with the following movies: Love Potion No. 9, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Clue 14: This movie's main lesson is: Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

Clue 15: The movie begins with different characters describing their encounters with the main character.

Is it "Something Wild"? I know the Buzzcocks track "Ever Fallen In Love" was used in that (long time Buzzcocks fan, even saw them live twice).

Not all of the clues stack up though, and though I've seen the film and don't remember a black & white segment, it was a long time ago.
