Kindle Books On A Kobo

I know this is probably a stupid question, but is there a way to get Kindle books on a Kobo?

I read on a 7" Android tablet, so I use Cool Reader and Kindle.

My wife is starting to show interest in ereaders, but can't see spending that much money for a tablet. But I came across a refurbished Nook for $69 which is affordable.

My reason for asking is that I downloaded a lot of great free Kindle ebooks thanks to this forum, and would love for her to be able to do the same. Not worried about other free places like Smashwords as I know Kobo can handle them, but I am assuming many of the ebooks I have can only be found on Amazon.

Thanks for your help.

Get Calibre on your computer, then Google Apprentice Alf and read through his blog. It didn't take me long to get it working.

Or pick up a Kindle Special Offers for $114 and don't worry about it.

Yes. The easiest method is Calibre. It will convert Kindle formats to ePub. But first you need to remove any DRM from the books. Google Apprentice Alf for details, we can't post them in this forum.

You might also consider the Kindle with Special Offers. This will eliminate any conversion requirements, since you can have the Kindle registered to the same account you already use. IMO, the Kindle 3 is a significantly better reader than the original Kobo. With the special offers, you will likely end up saving much of the original cost of the Kindle if you use any of them.

The calibre/alf solution is perfect, and not that hard at all
