New Problem
I tried renaming a few tags and received this error:
Code:

Fixed in next release. Despite the error the tag should still have been renamed, restart calibre to see it (the error just prevents the tag browser from updating its view).

One minor thing I've noticed was that the menu item "Remove all formats from selected books, except..." has moved postition, caught me out several time as I've selected "Remove all formats" item from muscle memory!

@lars mars: Those are disk I/O errors, run a disk check on your hard disk.

That didn't change in 0.8.7, it was a couple of releases back and it wasn't that it changed position, it was that the remove all formats action was added to the menu, to compensate for remove all formats, except not removing formats if that would leave a book with no formats.

Strange crashes
I am also experiencing strange and seemingly random crashes. It can happen converting books or clicking on the Edit Metadata button.
Didn't see these crashes in 0.8.6. Don't know if there's any data I can collect to help track the culprit. Edit: It's happened about 10 times in the last two hours. Just now calibre crashed when removing a book by pressing Delete. Edit2. Got this error trying to delete a book Quote:
Kovid. If you are interested, I could send it to you. Last edited by paulfiera; 06-26-2011 at 05:24 AM. |

Hide the Tag Browser, that will take care of your crashes. Apparently the fix for the memory leak in the Tag Browser in 0.8.7 has made it crash instead. I'm working on refactoring it for 0.8.8
