Series on the kindle
I bought a book in series from amazon, I noticed on my kindle it shows as

Feast for Crows - George R. R. Martin
..........................
Book: Four


none of my Calibre generated books that are part of a Series list that way, is this something that could be added ?

That's interesting. The only way that could happen is if amazon have added support for series metadata to MOBI, which I haven't come across. Can you open a bug report and attach your purchased file, I'd like to have a look at it.

I did some digging around to see how they are doing it, for that book and I added it to others of the series and it displays as well

--exthtype 503 --exthdata "A Feast for Crows: A Song of Ice and Fire: Book Four"

EDIT: after testing with other series it seems it only displays that way because of the name length, so it not a deliberate display of the series at all

503 isn't series, its the long title. It seems like the Kindle is using some kind of miniformat for that field. Form your description, it looks like it is splitting on colons.

that's what I thought too until I tried it with a few more series, it was just the length that made it display that way.
