Will 5VDC 450mA charger work on K3?

I have phone charger that is 5.0 VDC and 450 mA. Will it work for charging the K3?

I read that kindle needs 500 mA to charge (that is the general usb amperage i think).

I tried the charger for my Samsung YP-s3 player and my new phone and it charges them both, but the indicator is not green, its red. They are wormer than the usual pc usb charge.
Do you thing it will harm the k3?

The charger that came with my KSO 5v at 850mA, but a 5v charger with less mA should charge the Kindle albeit more slowly.

While the Kindle chargers are capable of outputting up to 850ma, the Kindle will charge fine, though slightly slower when connected to a computer's standard USB port which can only be expected to provide a maximum of 500ma.

In fact, computer ports often provide less, typically when another USB device is connected to its sister port. USB ports are generally configured in pairs with a total of 500ma available to the pair.

Connecting your Kindle to a charger limited to 450ma will not injure the Kindle. The only possible injury would be to the charger, though this is extremely unlikely with modern electronically regulated chargers.
