Update?

Hello. I just got my PE today. I've been reading the forums here and I tried updating it to Ermine via FAT and FAT32 formatted USBs. I had no luck with that even though I tried holding the menu + orientation button anywhere between 5-20 seconds. The PE just started up normally.

Then I tried updating it over the air. I clicked on the Update button in the menu folder of the device, and it said that there was an update available. I downloaded and 'installed it' in about 20 minutes. However, when it re-booted, it still said Android 1.6. So, what exactly did it update? And what exactly do I have to do to get this thing to 2.2? My S/N is BF30144100EEE

Nevermind, I got it to work. I first installed the over the air update then I installed 2.2 by a different USB. I think that it didn't like my girlfriend's 'fashion USB' stick. Lawl.

It's me again. I took a break and just enjoyed my ebook side of my pocket edge. I've also enjoyed the journal and viewing youtube videos using TubeMate. My update download is not a file but it is a folder with 7 files: boot.zip, data.zip, root.zip, system1.zip, system2.zip, tools.zip, and update.sh. I'm going to try the update one more time tonight. Wish me success! I'm very appreciative of this forum. This is my first time using such a tool.

There is no need to unzip the update file; I likely will not work as the edge loader is looking for the specific file e.g. update.zip.
