Order confirmations - never any details!

Why does Amazon UK never include the tiniest clue in their email order confirmation about the book I've just bought?

All I see is:

Order Summary:
Details:
Order #: D01-123456-654321
Sub-total of items: £6.07

Seems such a basic flaw...

Sorry, my stupid mistake!

I just didn't look hard enough beyond Details: (blank)

Although I do think it would be preferable if the title (and date of purchase) could be prominently up-front together with price and order number.

Terry,

Why don't you drop a line to Amazon UK to suggest it. The best way for them to find out what customers want is for customers to tell 'em.

I think there is enough detail and all within a small area of the email, as in this example:

Details:
Order #: D01-#######-#######

Subtotal of items: $10.87
------
Total before tax: $10.87
Tax Collected: $0.00
------
Total for this Order: $10.87

The following item is auto-delivered to your Kindle or other device. You can view more information about this order by clicking on the title on the Manage Your Kindle page at Amazon.com.

Born in Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry [Kindle Edition] $10.87
Sold By: Amazon Digital Services, Inc.

And since the book title is in bold, blue, underlined text and a hyperlink it really pops out as noticeable to me. They probably should put the title at the beginning, but it is still readable as is.

Well, I do know where to look, so it's findable, but it does involve a little more searching (eye scanning or scrolling) than is necessary. I still feel that the title should be just under the order number at the top, where it would be more prominent, and for the life of me don't understand why it's not there as a matter of course. Still, rather than whinge here, I'll take Mike L's suggestion and whinge at Amazon... nicely.

Thanks for the follow-ups.

Jack: Now I see what's happening. On my PC I read my emails in Forte's Agent, in text format, not HTML as in a browser or MS Outlook Express etc, and this is what I see:

I've just opened it in my browser and you're right, the title is now obvious!
