Can I download the Barnes and Nobel app?
Can the Barnes and Nobel app for android be used to purchase and read the ebooks? I have tried to find it in the apps store on my IQ and so far unsucessful.

Forgive the question, but have you tried searching for it with the correct spelling? It's "Barnes and Noble", not "Barnes and Nobel".

No............the app requires 2.1 and the iq so far is only up to 2.06
But there are TONS of books out there you can get for free or purchase Epub. You can even download and install the Kindle apk and it works great on the iq. You can then get the same books you'd want from B&N. |

Actually, the answer is yes, it will run, and yes it is easy to find.
The Nook for Tablets app won't run and is only found at the Google marketplace. But Nook for android will. Older versions for 2.0 and under are readily available at the Freeware Lovers website and run fine on firmware 2.0.5 and higher. I'm running Nook version 2.5 right now. It's not as good as Coolreader or the Kindle app (all fonts look soft) but it runs, you can buy books, and you can sideload to it. Another way ist to fake 2.1 on your IQ by using this way to get access to Android market.
Most apps will be installeble by using this little trick  ,if they work as designed is another question e.g. "Angry Birds" doesn't "Angry Birds Rio" does, although noticably slower compared to a proper Android mobile
