Got Some Flash Video Working

So I was reading about the Bluepanther Thunder tablet here:

And saw a link to the Flash Lite APK here:
http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/...html#post53441

After I installed it, I can see some Flash video, like here:
http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/81802342/

Not sure if this is news, but thought I'd share.

What version of Android are you Dingo or Ermine? If Ermine what version of the beta? I'm assuming you have a Pocket eDGe.

I tried the apk but it would not install.

I'm running 2.2.1, Build Number ERMINE-0.9

I had to remove the version of Flash Lite that was already on the tablet before this version would install. I used Titanium backup to do so.

I can now install but I still DO NOT see the video. I get the initial frame, but when the video starts to play it goes black and only sound is heard. I tried shutting the Pocket eDGe off and on, still a no go.

Can anyone else duplicate his results and get the video working?

I think it is only some videos that can be displayed in the browser. On that site I can see some videos but not others. I just re-installed the older plugin and the functionality is the same.

Yep. Only some videos will play.

Rant alert: Flash is just an absolute pain in the mobile arena. I really hope HTML5 standards are embraced so that we're not dependent on a single company to decide who can and can't see video.

I couldn't agree with you more there. Flash/Java should quickly become a thing of the past with HTML5 out now (of course Adobe and Sun/Oracle will probably beg to differ)

I think you mean javascript not java - they are two completely different things. No java = no android.

Java support is lacking in Android. There's surprisingly no plugin for the Web browser. It's why I can't use the wireless at work -- which employs Cisco Clean Access -- a java-based product.
