Thumbs up DecalGirl

Just so you all know, DecalGirl now has skins for the PE! They're $14.99 (much cheaper than GelaSkins). I haven't bought one yet (since, I was impatient and spent twice the money on one from GelaSkins) but it's worth a shot.

Well, fortunately, they have them for the EE as well since I don't own the PE.

Just so you all know DecalGirl also does custom skins. However, you have to contact them for the templates. They are working on getting their website updated with this info.

@Stephen- It is very cool that they have them for both the EE and the PE. I'm excited about it.
@Steed- That is nice to know as well. =)

I think I have narrowed my choices between the Burlwood and the Carbon Black. Now I don't which is better...the regular glossy finish, or add $5 for matte. Anyone have any experience or thoughts?
Thanks.

I have the matte finish and my husband has the glossy (on our ereaders, no EE or PE yet). I would think you would like the matte better for burlwood and carbon. As you would expect, the matte finish is not reflective and the glossy is. It might be my imagination, but I think the glossy also shows dirt/fingerprints more than matte. Whichever you choose, you will have one classy looking machine! (Can I call the eDGe a machine? ;p)
Good luck!

I have had nothing but trouble since I downloaded the wallpaper from Decalgirl tonigh and have had to reset it twice. Don't know if it is related or not, but it's the only thing I have changed about my eDGe in the past 24 hours...

Try uninstalling/resetting the wallpaper and see if the problem goes away...

Well heck! Just got my burlwood decal for the EE, and I put in on here at work as I have a high table and adequate lighting. To be honest I can't say I'm impressed with the quality of the vinyl. I was imagining something slightly more substantial. I can see why some people had trouble applying it without getting too many wrinkles. I would have liked it to curve a bit more around the outside covering the edges. I also had to pull offf the vinyl covering the center speaker grid as the thin material got caught when I closed up the unit wrinkling the top and bottom left. It doesn't look THAT bad on the EE, and it does protect it from scratches. Don't think I would buy again though.

Despite TommyZ's less-than-glowing review I just ordered a custom DecalGirl skin for my PE. Thanks for the tip, Steed! I don't know if I would have thought to look for anything beyond the 42 designs they show for the Pocket eDGe if you hadn't mentioned that they do custom skins.

I was able to choose from their hundreds of designs, all online, no extra charge. We'll see how it comes out. Maybe I'll even take a picture . . . !

Still waiting for mine. However I used some on my nook classic since I thought that the glossy white bezel was very distracting and made the eink screen look worse. I remember how inflexible they were to a point and am wondering how well they would go fit the rounded shapes of the Pocket Edge.

I also tried Gelaskin for the first time, and their online custom template app/page works surprisingly well! (for both their designs that aren't pre-formatted for the PE as well as your own uploads)

Will report back once they've arrived, but one thing I can say is that bang for the buck you can't beat DecalGirl, not only are they pretty much half-price, but they give inside and outside skins, and in both cases they cover more/separate areas.

I am very happy with my DecalGirl skin. It doesn't quite reach the very edges (no pun intended), but it does wrap nicely around the curves almost to the edges. I like the slightly rougher texture of the matte finish. They didn't cut the artwork in the way I guessed they would, and I wasn't sure at first that I was happy with my choice, but it grows on me daily. Now when I see my PE sitting on a side table waiting for me I get that warm, cozy feeling of "there's something that's really mine".

Seconding Filark -- I ordered a variety pack of DecalGirl skins for my EE and PE (one still feels the need to stock up on eDGe-related items, just in case). As a giant klutz who has all sorts of trouble with that ultra-sticky cabinet-lining contact paper, I was a bit nervous, but the vinyl was easy to put on and reposition slightly, and the one or two small bubbles were easy to eliminate by firmly pressing them out to the margins.
