PDF vis-a-vis ePub and Apps
If you had a choice between a PDF or ePub document for eDGe reader, which would you pick ... and why?
What apps work best with these including annotation options, formatting, and the like? Also, if you could select a public domain classic book, which reader would you prefer? Kindle, Aldiko, other? Should I have posted this in polls instead? |

I've come to prefer the EPUB format as content sizes to fit the screen optimally, and zooming in/out changes the font size but doesn't require you to pan & scroll. I rarely need to annotate ebooks, so annotation options aren't a factor. Simply highlight text works just fine in EPUB. I used to prefer PDF because the page looks more faithful to a printed page in terms of formatting, but the zoom issues were a big negative.
As for my preferred reader for a "public domain classic book", I prefer the eInk Reader, not an LCD app. |

If I'm reading a novel or something I won't be taking notes on, I prefer Epub for the reasons Boris gave. If it is a book that I am using for study I prefer PDF and if the book is important enough to me, I take it back into a PDF editor and rebuild my notes there.

Is it easier to load books off an SD card than it is from a USB thumb drive? Or best to download it from a website folder I created for myself?

I don't think it's any easier one way or the other, but I tend to use my Dropbox or Awesome Drop more often than external media storage.
