What happened 1-1-1989?
I noticed under "Forum - Today's Birthdays" six members aged 22 today 1-1-2011.
What happened 22 years ago? A sixtuplet? (btw is that the right word?) |

They all appear to be spammers if you consider their names...

![]() I'm surprised these made it as user names.....since it is obvious they are spam...the name and the links within their personal info make that abundantly clear! |

In my experience, people are uncomfortable with the term "sextuplet" because of its association with another English word which, as all right-thinking people know, must never be associated with babies.
By the way, according to Wikipedia, the only significant event on 1989 Jan 1 was the Montreal Protocol governing ozone-depleting chemicals going into effect. Though it does appear to be about 9 months after the debut of the "Fox Trot" comic strip, which is suspicious. |

To my way of thinking, any word used on TV is ok anywhere so that leaves George Carlin's 7 words for people to be uncomfortable with.

Thanks alefor and chubulor for your clarifications. Maybe one day I'll be crazy enough to understand a bit more of the English language.

It reminds me of what Niels Bohr said about quantum mechanics: If it makes sense to you, you don't understand it.
