Lightbulb Locking the Entourage Edge. how?

Dear all,
I am using my entourage edge for classes. In addition I used it as my personal diary.

Is there anyway to lock the edge, and have it ask for a password/swype sequence or anything?

I enabled the default locking with the tool mentioned in http://www.entourageedge.com/forums/...ull=1#post8778

it is called mysettings.

But when I enabled I actually locked myself out! When the edge locks, the readerscreen is not capturing touch input. That made it impossible to draw the lock sequence on the screen...

Lucky for me it does capture after the *first reboot* so I could switch this setting off after a reboot. pfew. Would have hated to go to default settings and lose my data (yes its backed up)

Any tips/hints are sure welcome!

PS: on dingo.

I get the same thing - the LCD doesn't accept input while locked, and the Menu button (which you usually use to unlock the LCD) doesn't work because of the MySettings lock pattern.

I recommend you put in a Feature Request or Help Request at http://www.entourageedge.com/support...kets&_a=submit. enTourage may be able to adjust the LCD lock/unlock logic to accommodate the MySettings lock pattern.

BTW, such drawn unlock patterns can be very easy to hack - you just hold the screen up at the right angle and you can see the repeated pen stroke pattern on the screen surface. The more often you use the lock pattern, the easier it will be to see on the screen surface.

Personally, I don't know why Android devices don't have a simple numeric unlock code like my Windows Mobile phone...

I made a feature request ticket with a request to make the device more secure by making it lockable. With swype, passcode or password.

Perhaps this will come with Froyo. My droid has this feature....either pattern, PIN, or password.

ES Security Manager

This allows you to set a password and specify which apps lock - including Library,Journal,Reader, Storage and Email. The app you lock will not open without entering the selected password. http://www.estrongs.com/en/products.html
Also includes a threat detector to scan.
