Is This Possible?
Hi all, great forum. I just wondered, on one of the promotional videos for the Edge, it shows how you can take a screen capture from the e-book side, and then display the image on the Android (tablet) side of the device.
Does anyone know, is it possible to do this vice-versa, i.e. to surf the web on the android side of the tablet, to take a screen capture and display it on the 'e-book' side? Thanks if anyone could say if this works, and how efficient it might be. Thanks, Sim |

Yes, that is possible, but only for web pages. You can display it either as a PDF formatted exactly as it looks on the browser, but not searchable. Or you can save it as an ePub, making the web page searchable. Both types can be added to your library for future use and annotated and sent to a friend via e-mail as a PDF. We made this function a lot easier in the next software build coming up.

Thanks for the reply, Don't Panic, that sounds handy. Other thing is I don't have wireless internet. Do you know, is it possible to connect a modem via USB?

Yes, you just need a USB to Ethernet adapter. I've personally used the Trendnet TU-ET100C with no problems.

Thanks for the replies, guys, it sounds so versatile, I'm amazed I hadn't heard of the Edge earlier.
Everyone's been raving about Pixel Qi, but I don't reckon it's all that it's been cracked up to be. But anyway, will post on that subject another time, since everyone's been discussing it so much, is sure to come up again. ![]() |

Most USB devices are "backward compatible" so a USB 2.0 rated device will work with USB 1.1 devices. It should be no problem, at least it should work with the eDGe. However, throughput will be limited as you say.

I don't know, I just got the one that was $7 at Wal Mart...in my circumstances it's unusual to not have wireless when using the Edge for browsing, so the performance hit isn't a big deal.

When it works and its only $7 that's pure WIN.
