My apologies
To Boris and his like;
I am <sarcasm>//VERY//</sarcasm> sorry I have been far too busy to keep up with your drama, you know doing real work, I hope this very dramatic post makes up for the time (aka my personal time) I spent away, and provides decent entertainment for everyone else. I am trying my best to make is a dramatic as I can, I hope this meets your drama requirements. I work on a number of projects, not just the edge. I am not community help, nor tech support, I do developement work so my posts tend to only be in the developement sections. Make sense huh? Sometimes I have //gasp// paying work, or /GASP// far more important/interesting/fun ( http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/08...-stop-pirates/ ) things to bring to light. I also kinda agree to provide issues privately to enTourage now, not post them here publicly. enTourage was certainly in the wrong with licensing, completely. They admitted such, and are now working greatly to come into full compliance (they may have by now, I will check at next update). How I was treated when i contacted them PRIVATELY, you know BEFORE I made a PUBLIC statement and got Boris upset. As far as me threatening to sue them? I don't think I used the sue word, VERY few GPL violations go that far, and I wouldn't personally sue them anyways. Its ok, because of the attitudes of a large //Active// forums users, and previous attitudes of enTourage staff I highly doubt developement will go far. My best bet is this //VERY// intresting device will die a sad death, and be replaced relatively soon with a newer model (2.2 + capacitive would be quite nice hint hint). Feel free to moan and gripe, maybe in a few weeks I will come back and read it. |

Justin,
I have to say I'm a little disappointed by this post. I'm probably going to get chewed out myself but I don't really care....free speech and everything. I respected your efforts and motives for getting the source code released but comments like this just exemplify the reason for the reaction you got from several of the long standing forum members when all this flared up. It seems you've been nothing more than what we call a "Seagull" or "Albatross Manager". You swooped in made lots of noise, cr*pped on loads of people and now you're pi**ing off just as quickly. Did it not occur to you that the enTourage developers also have //gasp// 'paying' gigs doing real work too (like let's see, errrm Dingo). It seems now that the necessity for releasing the source was not that urgent after all. I'm sorry to say that my respect for both you and your efforts have now been seriously dented by what amounts to little more than arrogance as displayed in the above post. Did you really need to frame it in that manner? I thought we'd buried this pettiness last week. When you do deign to come back from your hectic schedule we look forward to your next syllable with great eagerness |
