Any good Twitter Client ?

Hi all,
I am a new owner of a pocket edge from a week exactly.
I am very pleased with the device, but find the available apps list in the store a little disappointing.

I am looking for a decent twitter apps, a skype app, a rss feed readers, and a weather widget.
I had to use different tricks to download twitdroyd, tried opera-mini but could not install twitter extension. Tried to get tweetdeck ... no luck for the moment. Twitdroyd seems great, but does not succeed to connect to my twitter account.

I thought opera.mini would have been a good solution, as I had nice previous experience with opera and its extensions on a netbook (running ubuntu). but I couldn't get the twitter extension to load...

What you guys are you using for twitter ... apart from having a bookmark on mobile.twitter.com ?

I use SwiftTwit and love it. It's no longer being maintained, so it's not going to change or get any better, but it does work pretty well now. The developers who made Swift were taken into the Hoot Suite fold, and so they just stopped working on Swift.

If you want something that is actually current and being maintained, Touiteur is a good one. In some ways it does more than Swift, especially if you pay for the premium version. But there were some basic features from Swift that Toitueur hadn't yet implemented, and I'm not sure whether they have yet. (Like saved searches, which I use extensively.) And I know UI is a very personal thing, but I actually prefer Swift's user interface. So I've stuck with that one. Unless twitter changes their API significantly again, it will hold up.

A lot of people do use and very much like Toiteur, though. So consider trying them both out.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I use NewsRob for reading my Google Reader feeds.

And, I use the same name on twitter... just sayin'.

I loved Twidroyd (the company/software formerly known as Twidroid) when it first came out. Now it's sluggish, and I find it easier to tweet on my Blackberry. And given that they were recently indicted and jailed by the twitter police for copyright infringement, I'm not sure if they are the best bet for the long term. Search for the legacy version of the apk, which works with donut, the version of Android currently running on the eDGe. I think I still have the APK somewhere, if you can't find it, let me know and I'll drop it to you.

I also use the same name on twitter. Just sayin'.

I use TweetCaster and it works great although I hate twitter. Only use it because it was required for one of my classes this quarter. That being said, the app does the job.

I'll have to check that out. I wonder if it's significantly different from when I last used it. Thanks!
