LCD "wakes up" randomly without any input
I've noticed this odd quirk for a while, both before and after the big update in May. When the LCD shuts off, either due to locking it manually or simply letting the screen turn off through inactivity, it will "wake up" ever few minutes. It doesn't unlock, just shows the normal locked screen. It then usually fades and turns off again a short while later. It's like it has sleep apnea or something.
I'm worried this will drain the battery faster than staying off reliably. My best guess would be some program is doing this, but I'm not sure what. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, |

I notice this, too. Not sure what program is doing it. This happens on a freshly started system, too, without (purposely) starting any apps.
I do have some widgets on the desktop -- the music player (not playing anything at the moment), a bunch of picture frames, and the analog clock. |

So, now I've had it disconnected from power a while. It shut down the LCD after a few minutes as it should and hasn't lit back up since. |

Background apps
This may also happen if you have apps that run in the background or check in periodically, like an alarm notification or a reminder of some kind.

That does seem to make sense. Like Ken, I was leaving it plugged in on my desk, and I don't think it's doing it now with the plug out.
