Problem updating edge's software
Hi there,
i've just received my blue edge and i'm starting to know it's functions. I tried to update the device software following the user guide (at page 31), but i've not yet managed to succeed. If i click on the "Update Now" label in the -eDGe Preferences- menu, it check for updates and find the new version flawlessly but after the download is finished (and a "update downloaded" icon appears in the upper bar), i simply don't know what to do to to install the update. If i touch on the icon in the upper bar nothing happen and pressing "update now" again simply restart the check-and-download routine. Thank you for the help |

If this is the same problem we were talking about before when the software update first came out, then what you have to do is click and hold the notification bar along the top, then drag your finger all the way down so that the thin notification menu is pulled down and takes up the entire screen. From there, you'll be able to click on the icon.
It took us all a while to figure that out. I know I used to always just go to the home page, then hit Menu and choose "Notifications" in order to see the notifications. But, we eventually figured out that you could increase the size of the notification bar to the whole length of the page by clicking and dragging, and then you could select the notification items directly. Does that help? |

correct Sarah - the downward sliding notification "screen" is inherent to the Android OS...clicking on the downloaded file from there should initiate the install process and set you on your way.
(unless of course, there's another issue at play here) |

Thank you all.
I solved the problem just 5 minutes after posting, simply reading the article on updating in the entourage edge Knowledge base (https://www.entourageedge.com/suppor...barticleid=100), that gesture was really counterintuitive (at least for me). The bundled guide is probably quite outdated, it forget to mention the "bar dragging" thing while the online version explain the process in details. |

Hi
I fallow all instructions for update my software, but many times I wait until 1 hour andnothing. I see the small icon but wait, and wait, and wait Other question where is the software for play movies??? And app for the edge (video player, text proccesing, Thanks |

My edge is having trouble updating the system software today. I will keep trying. Anyway, what is the new version number so I will know I have got the update?

Hi all,
Is there a way to download the coyote update to a PC, slam it onto an SD card and update my edge from there? My wife's system just doesn't seem to want to update through the "update now" feature, and it took numerous tries on mine before it worked as well. I was doing as the instructions recommended ( https://www.entourageedge.com/suppor...barticleid=100 ), but it hasn't completed and installed the update after 10 tries already. Any advice? Bob |

I do see the notification, and I've run the setup 15 times now (I've been working on it since Suppertime last night, and it's now lunchtime here). Each time it had seemed to do an update, but when I look at the version it remained Badger and hadn't moved to Coyote.
Quick note, it DID finally update on my last try about 10 minutes ago. But I still wonder if there isn't a way to update manually rather than through the update now button. |

My update did finally work. :-)
But I wonder why a manual update isn't available in the support center for download, rather than having to request it. It's good to know that it is at least possible to manually update. Thanks! Last edited by Godzirra; 05-29-2010 at 02:25 PM. |
