What eDGe can learn from iBook in iPad
I went to Apple store to test iPad today. I just found some very human simple functions that iPad has. I don't think they patented these ideas.
When you double click on a word on an e-book on iPad, it will automatic select the word, which is also presented on eDGe, but the pop-up menu is more human in iPad than in eDGe, which can link to dictionary. What is also very human is that the selection length can be re-adjust easily and interactively with a very sophisticated idea (you should try by yourself on iPad). Suggestions: 1. the selection length can be re-adjusted to letter level instead of word level 2. add a bottom beside the "copy" bottom for linking to dictionary. What should also be noted that the passed word should be able to modified by user, concerning the following case: In book text: "factories", but you need to change it manually or automatically to "factory" before looking it up from dictionary. Good luck for eDGe! |

@boris
What timing - I was going to ask how to look up a word in an ebook. Once the search dialog is displayed, select the "search with down arrow" to select from: In Book, Google, Wikipedia, or Dictionary. Gunner... Last edited by Gunnerp245; 04-25-2010 at 10:42 AM. Reason: Correct spelling |
