Jumped through all the hoops Copia set up to get the books, which resulted in losing access to all the books I had in my Adobe Digital Editions account, which I had on loan from the library. If others use Adobe for Library books bewared that registering the Copia desktop reading device, will deauthorise your ADE account from your computer.

Unhappy

I've got Copia installed already, so I've lost my Adobe, without knowing ?

That's a bummer - how do I check, I don't think I've used Adobe yet.

When you go into ADE, if you have library books try to read them, if Copia has messed it up it will give you an error, telling you the book isn't there. If not your fine.

If you have not used ADE, then it shouldn't be an issue as you can re-authorise it. It's only a problem if you have library (overdrive) books in ADE at the time.

When I redownloaded my books from Overdrive, after deleting Copia, they seemed to work fine. To be fair, Copia did give a warning that I would deregister my Adobe account from the computer, but stupidly didn't think it would affect my library loans.

Tome Keeper, thank you for the heads-up. I was thinking about installing Copia and that would have been very rage-inducing for me. I wonder why it de-registers you???

Weird. When I installed it for the freebies a month or two ago it didn't deauthorize ADE, wonder why they'd change that.

No Fair !!

I can't get at 'em - help.............

I've got books before (Graduate, Passage to India, those 7 on offer) but I click to download Little Ceasar & Heat of the Night...........and nothing happens.

Those 7 are still on my Copia bookshelves in fact, so I know I've done it before.

Any suggestions please ? These are 2 I would really like to get, too.

(And I still seem to have ADE by the way.........)

No idea how to help (and apparently, neither can anyone at Copia. I have same problem on one of the baseball books (the others added fine, the problem one says it does, but doesn't). Repeated emails to them results in "it works here...."

FYI, I managed to get my problem book downloaded (but not properly in my library). I clicked to add it to my library as Unread, went to the Copia reader and Synced. The book now shows in my book list. Double clicking downloaded the book and let me read it. On the web, it still shows that I can buy it (which means it isn't "mine" in the library), but I no longer care.

Try this on your problem books...

If I remember correctly, when you're installing the Copia reader it does ask something about your ADE authorization and you're supposed to say no if you don't want to deauthorize it.

I find the Copia site and reader very troublesome, and the layout is not intuitive IMO. I was having problems opening up Little Caesar when I got last week; I sent CS an email and they replied, asking a number of questions. I haven't responded yet - couldn't be bothered right now

It does, and I did read it. Just didn't realise that if you de authorise ADE and then re-authorise it, that your books wouldn't work. My bad, just wanted to warn others.

It's just very strange that the first offer I took up, 7 books, Graduate etc... slotted in perfectly, with no hassle at all.
Wonder if they're available elsewhere ..........must get the fingers moving !

Amazingly, I think the Copia website is even worse than Kobo for causing frustration - for me, at least. At Kobo, if you can manage to navigate through their horrible search to actually FIND a book, at least it's straightforward from there to buy it and get it downloaded.

So true! I used to think Kobo's site was the worst but I think Copia may well take that prize
