Youngest grandmothers here?

Jumping off a tangent on this thread, I'm wondering what are the youngest grandmothers here on Mobileread. Anyone hit that milestone in their early 30s?

My mil became a grandmother at 33 years old. Not me. I'm hoping I don't become a grandmother until I'm at least 60. Well, *maybe* 59.

I worked with a woman who was a grandmother at 29. She had a baby when she was 15; her daughter had a baby at 14

Just Googled this for interest. In 2011, a Romanian gypsy became a grandmother at twenty-three. The youngest authenticated on record was seventeen.

I guess in the mists of time when sex wasn't even recognised as a factor in reproduction and then, later, when biological rather than social or cultural restrains was still the overriding factor, even younger grandmothers would have been around.

My mom had me at 25, and I had my first child at 29. I'm thinking I might be a granny by the time I'm 60... It really depends on where careers go. If it's going to go back to a more trade-oriented thing, then maybe my daughter will decide to be a plumber, go through training, and have a baby earlier. Whereas I waited until after my husband and I had both completed our MBAs. MBA: it's the new high school diploma!

And I thought being a grandmother at 36 was young! My grandmother got her oldest at the age of 18 (born in '46...) and he got his oldest at the age of 18...

Me, I'll never be a grandmother...
