Medical student
Hi!
I'm a medical student from belgium and on a day to day basis I need to look at LOTS of jpg's, ppt's and pdf's. All with lots and very colorfull images. So what I'm looking for is a good ereader (WITH COLO(U)R) because its just a wast of the paper otherwise. I know the Ipad supports all of this, but I still find it a bit pricy and I don't need the Internet to distract me from the real work. It would also be nice to have the ability to zoom in(in hi res pics) and highlight in the text. Please help I'm new to this stuff!! So to summerize I need: ppt and pdf support color screen cheaper than ipad no internet zoom in highlight in text Thank you!! |

It sounds like you need a tablet and all of those are wired. You could try for a WiFi tablet. That way you don't pay for a data plan and you can only access the internet when you are in a WiFi hotspot.

I agree, a tablet sounds best. You can disable the internet on many tablets, but to be honest you could always use the internet to help with your work, as well as download new books, check e-mails ect. I once tried to read my old toxicology textbook on the Kindle - never again!

iPad plus GoodReader app, that's what you need!
![]() And like Tome said... at some point you will need Internet in order to get some info for your studying session. |

All tablets come with wifi since, IME, they are mostly used for browsing.
As was suggested above, the device that most nearly fits your needs would be a used ipad 1 wifi. Just go into settings and turn wifi off if you don't want to be alerted to e-mails, etc. |
