Hi, and welcome to MR!

First try to plug the device in a wall-charger and charge for some hours.

Second, reset the reader by pushing the reset-button with a paper-clip or something, restart by flipping the power switch and immediately connect the device to a PC.

You should get the USB-connected message.
Access the device via Explorer (assuming you are using Windows) and delete the new books.
You can also run CHKDSK on the "removeable media".
(And yes the "exported" removeable media is using VFAT as filesystem. So it is save to use CHKDISK on it.)

HTH

@ Bangladesh,
I'm Evelyn from SonyListens. I work for Sony Electronics Inc. here in the United States and as such am not familiar with the processes and procedures for Sony Canada, but if you will send an email to SonyListens@am.sony.com including your name, address, Reader model and serial number, what issue you are experiencing with your Reader and a phone number where you may be contacted, I will forward it to a colleague in Sony Canada. Or you can e-mail them directly at CIC@SONY.CA.
Thanks =~)
