I guess this makes it official?
http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/23/e...portedly-disc/
Since a major, reliable site such as engadget is reporting it. I guess it's truly an end of a great experiment that so many of us were pinning our hopes on. |

I just don't know how a slate can be better than a dualbook.
![]() Other than that, I'm hoping the registration site and forum will be around for a while and that Ermine will be finalized. And I'm still thinking about getting an EE if I can find one in my price range! ![]() Sad, though. ![]() |

Asus eee note now seems to be the most likely to take up the slack once Entourage goes under. Although I have been toying with the idea of buying into the Notino Ink platform; NEC is also about to ship a dual screen device in Asia: http://liliputing.com/2011/05/nec-du...n-in-june.html Although neither will have the same level of Adobe integration that the Edge had. Sony also has the S2 coming out, although no one really knows what type of capabilities it has. I really hope that someone would follow up on the idea that Entourage had, which attracted a small but intensely loyal following, because it is a niche product that really works, and works well in the lives of those who use it daily. |

It's sad to see good ideas die. I once had a credit card sized computer, the Rexx 9000 or some similar name. I actually brought it to Moscow through customs in my wallet feeling like a spy. I still can't believe they stopped making them . This is another idea that deserves to continue.

That was in June 2001. It was actually in the credit card compartment. You had to connect it to a cradle to download internet news. Nowadays it would be wireless. But modern detection equipment would see it -- they found a tab of acid because it was wrapped in aluminum foil...
Imagine how our dual-screen devices would be with the lighter, thinner modern screens. I think dual screens will persist, even without e-ink. |
