Calibre checksums?

Are calibre hashsums (e.g. MD5 or SHA-256) available?

Checksums of what?
Checksums of the calibre distribution file - e.g. calibre-0.8.1.msi.

For my downloaded copy of calibre-0.8.1.msi, VisualHash gives:

Quote:
File : calibre-0.8.1.msi>
MD5 : BA7249F7 25E29920 18791709 A622E7E5
SHA-1 : 15AD2A0E 4788A696 19605866 B3770C6A 94D15904
SHA-256 : 30DB325C 767655DE B2AE7618 010F1C03 4FF9E4C6

It would be nice if the calibre web site listed some such hash sums - so you could check the downloaded file was identical to the one on the web site.

The Google code page, which, I believe, supplies the official main download location, has a SHA1 checksum.

You suspect someone is tampering with your Calibre updates?

There are only the 2 official locations that should be used (for desktop).
while the Linux Repository versions are safe, they are sadly out of date because of the warp speed of Calibre development .

The checksum is used to check if the downloaded file has any errors.
