Restricting the book list to the results

Hi,

I would like when displaying my search results, only the results of the search be displayed rather than the results be highlighted. To this end I have to deselect this option in Preferences > Searching and it works fine. The problem is that each time I update Calibre, this option goes back to default (highlighting selections). Is there a way to redefine the default to the restricted mode?

I would have thought that a preference changing when a calibre update is applied would be a bug to be fixed? It is probably worth raising a ticket about this so it does not get overlooked

There seems to be a permissions issue with your (hidden) Calibre settings folder/file.
Or
You are restoring this directory between uses.
To locate the Directory:
Open Preferences: Miscellaneous
Click the third button down: "Calibre Configuration Directory"

You must have Owner-Read-Write privileges

That preference is remembered between restarts. As theducks said you likely have a permissions problem on your calibre config dir.
