Edit Metadata Ids:

Version 0.8, is there a way to only have the isbn ID show on the new metadata screen like it was previously? I really don't care to have the Amazon or Google ID numbers also. Actually, I don't see just what they are needed for if you have the isbn number.

Maybe a check box in the configure metadata download screen that turns off the id number for the different download searches.

Thanks for your help on this.

isbn number is always the first id shown in the ids field.

I understand and that is what I've seen.

But, when I copy and paste a isbn number into the id spot, the field doesn't turn green and be recognized until I type "isbn:", without the quotes, in front of the number. Then this version doesn't seem to search on the isbn number when I try and do a download of the metadata until I tell it that the number is isbn: I hope that I'm explaining this well enough.

I don't want to have to type isbn: every time I do a copy and paste. The previous version knew what the number was and searched for the metadata with no problems.

Yeah well generalizing identifiers has many other benefits, so this is not going to change, sorry.

It might however, be possible to recognize an isbn with no prefix as an isbn, unfortunately I'm traveling for the next few days, so I'm likely to forget, so open a ticket about it.

Funny, I just wanted to ask the same questions as rwmcafee.
It is really annoying not being able to just copy and paste an isbn.

But many thanks in advance for the promised efforts to at least implement an automatic recognition, when an isbn is entered.
Switching back to 0.7.59 in the meantime.

Done. Also, they already said that the fix has been accomplished and will be in the next release.

Thanks anyway for the other new features in the 0.8.0 version! Especially the cover choice.

The change, which is in the next release, adds a small button that pastes the contents of the clipboard, prefixed with 'isbn:'. No attempt is made to recognize a value entered by hand or via a normal paste operation.

It works very well. Now, all I have to remember is to not use ctrl-v to paste the isbn number in...
