Battery issue with 1.2

Since we upgraded our Nook Colors to 1.2, my wife and I have noticed that there is no longer any warning message when the battery is getting low. The indicator at the bottom will be yellow, never reaches red anymore, and then it just shuts off. Has anyone else had this problem?

Also, the little book icon at the bottom that used to take me to whatever I was reading last doesn't seem to work anymore.

I just had that happen to me. I had the yellow, I did get a popup on the screen that said I was at 20%, I figured I had some more time, and bam, it just shut off. It never turned red. I think at 20% you should still be able to use it.

I've always had some trouble with sideloaded books, especially from Baen's free library. I've gotten in to the habit of setting a bookmark every time I turn it off, just in case. Since 1.2, either I'm out of that habit, or it's losing bookmarks. And I'm pretty sure I'm not out of habit. It's annoying.

When flashing "rom's" on android devices, it is good practice to do so on a fully charged battery, because the new "o/s" calibrates from when it is first run.

You may want to either fully charge the NC and then reinstall ver 1.2 which would re-calibrate the battery or you could create a SD card with the clockwork recovery image and boot from the sd card into Clockwork recovery. There is a menu item in Clockwork to reset the battery calibration, this also works best if done while on a full charge.
