Nook Color - No Internet - Netgear Rangemax
Nook Color works great in wifi hot spots like B&N store.
Won't work correctly at home with Netgear Rangemax router. I've got a laptop at home and a smart phone at home, and they work perfectly with the router, and without any router configuration modifications. Worked from day one, out of the box. Can connect to router with Nook Color, excellent signal strength, WPA-PSK (TKIP) security. Says I'm connected to the Internet, but can't get to any web sites at all. - Wireless network mode was auto, changed to b and g. Nada. - Tied the Nook Color's MAC address to a specific IP. That helped the Nook stay connected but still can't get to any web sites. - Tried specifying specific IP addresses for the DNS server instead of defaulting to the ISP's DNS server. Didn't help. I'm out of ideas. Can anyone think of anything else? Many thanks, Mike |

Nope, just did an IP-to-MAC address reservation for the Nook.

Had almost the same issue once, and the problem was resolved with a cold reboot (router, not device). I still have no idea why....

Are you using a proxy server for Web access? If not, is the NC (for some reason) set to access one that doesn't exist? If so, is the NC set to use it?

After rooting my Nook Color it would always say it was connected to my home wifi network, but I could not access the internet. I turned off the security and left the network open, and I had internet. Long story short it turns out my wifi password was too long. I had been using a phrase. As soon as I set a shorter password everything worked just fine. If your password is long this may be the solution. Good luck!
