Kindle MP3 player problem

Hi...new Kindle owner..able to put music on my Kindle but pressing F button/alt F does nothing-does not move to the next track. It only plays the first song and then stops. Any help/solutions would be great...I like having music on while reading. Bonnie

I had music on my Kindle for a while but I have removed it, so I can't test this for you.

Which directory did you put the music into on the Kindle? In order to have background music while reading, the MP3 files need to be in the "music" folder on the Kindle. As I recall, you can put MP3s into the "audible" directory, but it only plays one song at a time and won't play in the background when a book is open.

I hope that helps.

If you want to use the Kindle in any serious way to play music (or any MP3 file -- it's truly great for podcasts, having enough volume that two people can enjoy the programme!) you should put the files in the Audible directory. This allows you to use the K3 like any normal MP3 player, with a very basic interface and a progress bar etc. But be aware that you cannot then read books at the same time, as you can if you have the music loaded as background.
