Shading of Author Icons?
I'm curious as to the meaning of the different shades of grey/black that I see in the tag browser in the authors section.
The little head is sometimes black, sometimes grey and sometimes some variable percentage of each. I've been trying to figure out what data this corresponds to. I'm sure it's something obvious. Can someone please explain? Thanks so much. |

It's not obvious and it caught me out too - the shading represents the average rating for the books for that author. You can turn it off in preferences -> look and feel ("Show average ratings in the tags browser") or something like that.

WOW! I thought the more shaded it was the more metadata it had. I would look through for ones with no shading to fill in metadata. I didn't know it was ratings!
