preloaded books
I haven't been able to figure out how to delete the preloaded books/manuals.
Figured it would be an easy fix. But can't even find the files in the file manager when using CM7 |

From what I understand the preloaded guides, along with the sample cooking book that comes with the 1.2 upgrade can not be deleted. Anything else you want to delete is done from the B&N website on your computer. Go you your Nook Library and deleted from there.

The sample and the cookbook is what I want gone. Well if I can't delete them that's plain stupid lol.

I don't see them there. That was the first thing I went to check.

I was on a B&N forum and like a Bobioden said, I don't think they can be permanently deleted. I wish I would have copy the url for that thread, but alas, I did not and it is hard to navigate through their forums. I do remember that it was on the technical forum.

That's what I read earlier. Thanks, Anemic!

Thanks, that's pretty terrible, it just looks ugly in my library. I've got mine rooted with CM7, but like the library and reader of the stock Nook Color.....but until the Auto-Nooter gets released with 1.2 (I've seen a Manual-Nooter, but has a lot of bugs), and allows me to remove them (if that would be possible with that) then I'll stick with Aldiko.

+1 to this thread - I think it's terribly ridiculous/annoying that the pre-loaded books can't be deleted/removed/archived permanently.
I also do not like this trend of new un-deletable books. At first it was just the quick guide and user manual. Now we have the cook book to show off the flash capabilities. Are we going to have a new "stuck with it forever" book each time they push an update? I'm not a child, B&N, and I am a control-freak, so let me control my books, please. ![]() (At least we were able to delete the 2 free children's books.) |
